Our Greensboro area client is a growing non profit organization and manufacturer with an immediate DIRECT HIRE career opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer (Continuous Improvement). They offer pay of $75k-$80k, great benefits and room for career growth in an industry making a difference everyday! Responsibilities:

Develops, implements, and monitors the Continuous Improvement (CI) Roadmap

Using a data driven approach, plans and implements CI projects to reduce waste and eliminate vision barriers to support the CI Roadmap. Projects will range in size and complexity from “Just Do It” to fully planned multi-day kaizen events.

Collaborates with all functional departments (Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, Finance and Human Resources) to assist in developing, prioritizing, and executing company's mission and improvement targets.

Actively and regularly review Company's practices to identify opportunities and advise on appropriate organizational interventions for improving company's systems and practices to achieve desired outcomes.

Initiates and drives Continuous Improvement (Lean) activities to improve performance including accessibility, environment, processes, equipment/ machinery, and Materials/ Inventory management. Develops methods, procedures, and work instructions to support and maintain these improvements.

Monitors progress to continuous improvement KPIs and advances the transformation to world class over time through continued improvement and coaching.

Maintains the CI database to drive improvements to conclusion and report on results.

Leads VSM, 5S and Kaizen events.

Drives lean training and implements a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA, VSM, Kaizen, problem solving, 5S, etc.

Develops and implements a Lean Training regimen to improve the breadth and depth of company employees to foster increased employee education and engagement.

Actively participates in New Product and Process Introductions to incorporate Lean and Continuous Improvements strategies during initial product launches.

Requirements:

B.S Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)

Minimum 3 years of manufacturing/Operations experience

Knowledge and proven skills in Lean Manufacturing methods.

Knowledgeable in advanced problem-solving techniques and process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma (DMAIC), flow and Kaizen process, Value Stream Mapping (VSM).

Related professional certifications (Black Belt, Six Sigma, Lean Champion, etc.) desired.

Ability to apply standard industrial engineering practices.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Access, Project) and manufacturing operation systems.

Proficiency with MRP systems and Inventory Management practices
