Verdox seeks a Chemistry Technician to join our R&D team. This position reports to the Polymer Scientist.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out the synthesis and purification of small-molecule and polymeric materials on the multigram to kilogram scale, using existing synthetic procedures developed by Verdox chemists
Use and maintain Verdox’s multi-liter reactors for the safe and reliable scale-up of synthetic reactions
Working closely with chemists and scientists, iterate on existing synthetic procedures to identify optimal reaction conditions
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
BS/BA in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent), with minimum ten years of relevant industry experience
Demonstrated experience executing multigram to kilogram scale synthesis safely
Comfortable with varied purification techniques including large scale purification
Experience with polymer synthesis, purification and physical characterization is a plus
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Strong oral and written communication skills
Comfortable working in an evolutionary and dynamic startup environment
