A Global Logistics Coordinator is responsible for processing orders and overseeing the cycle of order fulfillment. This includes customer service, on-time delivery of service, quality, and cost. This person must manage internal processes, and external vendors effectively to ensure a safe and productive operation. This role must work closely with sales and operations to understand customer requirements. Although an operations role, this professional is expected to interface directly with customers and outside suppliers when necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner
Prioritize work queues as needed to ensure consistent and timely delivery of products and services
Negotiate freight rates and provide correct DOT regulated documents, purchase orders and packaging instructions to customers and brokers when scheduling
Order fulfillment including, but not limited to order quoting, creation, scheduling, and tracking
Plan and track the shipment of materials according to customer requirements
Monitor multiple email accounts, parsing out leads where applicable
Ensure timely communication with all internal and external customers to provide quality service
Provide quotes to industry-lane customers utilizing tiered pricing structure; forward higher-level customers to associated sales rep
Work with Global Logistics Manager to identify and solve logistics issues using problem solving tools and
techniques. Responsibilities would include clearly identifying root cause of problems occurring in logistics,
vendor management, or logistics quality of the business
Submit IR and DRNs to customers, escalating to sales account manager when necessary
Work with EH&S to close incidents related to inbound and outbound orders (including timely communication to Sales Support, Sales, and Management), which may impact service and quality levels

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a Business, Supply Chain or equivalent experience in a logistics/transportation role
Candidate must have 3 - 5 years’ experience in a transportation or supply chain role in an Industrial, Skilled Trade, or Manufacturing industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
