Job Description
The Arlo Williamsburg Hotel is an independent lifestyle boutique hotel located in the middle of the action and on the stoop of local hotspots, from entertainment to culture. We are looking for personable and guest focused Bartenders to provide an excellent guest experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests
Make drink suggestions based on guest preferences
Take part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
Restock bar supplies and inventory
Prepare the bar by cutting, slicing and peeling perishable garnishes and fruits, mixing and pouring juices and storing back-up supplies in prescribed containers
Check guests’ identification and confirm they meet legal drinking age
Accurately prepare checks and accept payment
Open, maintain, and close tabs throughout a shift
Engage with guests and colleagues in a professional manner
Maintain cleanliness of bar area in accordance with federal, state, local and company codes
Take part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
Uphold service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment
Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by a supervisor/manager
Qualifications:
Experience working in a New York City bar or restaurant
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
Great communication skills, professional demeanor and appearance
Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction
Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to change out kegs
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects
Pay Rate: $10.65 /Hourly + Tips
