Job Description
Kent Quality Foods, a premier manufacturer of specialty meat products, is seeking an experienced professional to lead our second shift operations at its Hudsonville facility in the position of 2nd Shift Sanitation Manager (6pm-2am). We are a well-established business with more than fifty years of success, and even though you may not know our name, you will surely know our products.
Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule the departments work utilizing employees, equipment and materials in order to ensure a clean and sanitary plant, while delivering and improving efficiency and effectiveness goal
Develop and improve new and existing SOP
Train employees and develop strategies to maximize employee utilization and cross-coverage
Support plant safety, food safety, and good manufacturing practices (GMP's) Food Safety being paramount to all operations
Work with supervisor's and ensure that Pre-operational plant conditions are within USDA and KQF standards
Conduct quarterly chemical training with sanitation team
Monitor and evaluate environmental swabs-problem solve and identify countermeasures for deviations and out of spec results
Deliver on target or better than on the Sanitation supply and chemical budget
Develop employees and supervisors-align with Company objective to promote from within
Work on continuous improvement projects in the department
Approve and verify hours, for the department
Conduct weekly meetings with Supervisors to go over the department metrics, projects, and goals
Perform other projects, tasks, and duties, as assigned by plant management

Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Able to coach, mentor and direct employees as need
An individual with outstanding problem-solving skills
Must have strong organizational skills, capable of directing priorities and goal for the entire second shift operation
Effective communication skills with direct reports and with other management on other shifts
A continuous improvement mindset
Strong ownership in the success of the team
