Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Mechanical & Civil Estimator located in Midland, TX. The Senior Mechanical & Civil Estimator will be responsible for day-to-day cost estimation and bidding activities for mechanical and civil engineering projects. This includes conducting inspections, utilizing software, analyzing maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards. The Estimator prepares estimates and proposals for engineering and design-build projects, presenting lump sum bids, proposals, unit costs, and quantities.

Job Overview

The Estimator applies their experience and field knowledge to estimating and, with a minimum level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of estimating problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Estimator understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. The Estimator must be accurate in their calculations and meet deadlines. They must also be able to handle last-minute changes and be able to work well under pressure.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering is a plus

• 3+ years of experience in a large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company (preferably in estimating, project controls, or project management)

• Highly experienced in Microsoft Excel with experience utilizing Visual Basic Analysis (VBA)

• Certification through the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) or the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International is advantageous.

• Minimum 5 years as a Facility estimator, or 10-15 years as a Project Manager or Superintendent

• Field experience, with the ability to translate that to in-office computer work

• Ability to provide highly accurate estimates for a wide variety of projects.

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of services.

• Valid Driver License

• Clean Criminal Record

• Ability to pass a Substance and Alcohol Test.
