Position: Network and Security Engineer

Locations: Hackensack, NJ

Full Time: Yes (9:00am - 5:00pm)

Hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days in office)

Salary range: $90,000-$125,000 + Full Benefits

The Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of our enterprise network environment, ensuring stability, availability, performance, and security.

Key responsibilities include:

Administering internal/external network security, conducting vulnerability scanning, patching and remediation, and managing software/firmware updates.

Planning and scheduling periodic maintenance of networking hardware and software systems.

Managing various technologies, vendors, and products such as Dell servers, Netapp storage, VMware, Veeam, Zerto, Cisco, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and more.

Overseeing security tools including Microsoft 365 E5 Suite, Tenable/Nessus vulnerability management, SIEM, Logmonitor, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Mimecast, WAN, VPNs, and Palo Alto firewalls.

Managing management tools like Intune, Configuration Manager, and Citrix.

Supporting legal-specific software including iManage, Intapp, Litera, and Elite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Network and Software Systems:

Ensure optimal security and operational uptime for all network and end-user hardware.

Conduct semi-annual inventory of server software, hardware, and firmware, creating inventory reports and tracking end of life/support dates.

Act as an escalation point for Help Desk and escalated support tickets.

Diagram the entire network, including IP address spaces, subnets/vlans, and networking gear.

Security:

Perform monthly internal and external vulnerability scanning and report findings to Directors and CIO.

Fine-tune alerting systems and audit monitoring systems for proper configuration.

Schedule and coordinate monthly security meetings to address vulnerabilities and assign patching/remediation.

Review daily security alerts and ensure timely and proper action.

Recommend policies and procedures to enhance security while maintaining user ease of use.

Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in network infrastructure management and implementation.

Broad knowledge of computer science and business/management acumen equivalent to a college or university education.

4-year college degree preferred, equivalent experience considered.

Technical Skills & Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing Windows computer systems.

Experience with Microsoft SQL, Exchange, Office 365/Azure, and Active Directory preferred.

Experience with iManage, Thomson Reuters 3E, and Foundations system administration preferred.

General Knowledge & Abilities:

Previous experience managing IT in a legal environment preferred.

Ability to function as a project manager and coordinate internal and external resources effectively.

Language Skills:

Excellent English language skills for reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Microsoft and independent security certifications preferred.

Physical Demands:

May involve lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.

Position requires occasional sitting, twisting, standing, handling, and walking.

Constant use of fingers and typing.
