Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1) Provide patient care clinically and patient service

2) Check patients in and out, verify insurance, update contact information at each visit, and assist with referrals.

3) Effectively handle telephone inquiries; handle patient calls and effectively manage the daily schedule.

4) Acquire medical history and chief complaint of patient, prepare patient chart, and ensure confidentiality of all records.

5) Perform preliminary and special testing for Optometrist.

6) Assist patients with selection and dispensing of frames and lenses.

7) Assist patients with contact lens education.

8) Maintain patient records in billing/scheduling system.

9) Provide back-up billing support.

10) Administrative duties for this position include faxing, copying, making phone calls, preparing patients' medical records, scanning, and entering extensive data in the office's computer system.
