Essential Function and Responsibilities
Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Pipefitter / Steamfitter Apprentice & Journeyman will be responsible for providing full cycle, in depth knowledge and support for the profession of Pipefitter / Steamfitter to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements.
Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks
Make detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, solder, assemble and install metal, plastic and fibreglass pipes, valves and fittings
Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position
Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks
Remove and replace worn components and do general maintenance work
Required Knowledge and Skills
Certified Journeyman Trade Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program
2-3 years’ experience reading piping and instrumentation design diagrams
2-3 years’ experience laying out and installing piping, tubing, fittings, and all related components.
2-3 years’ experience installing, testing, and maintaining low- and high-pressure steam and condensate systems
2-3 years’ experience rigging, hoisting, lifting, and positioning equipment.
2-3 Years’ Oil/Gas Industry experience

The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings
The ability to do careful and precise work
May be required to lift items weighing over 25 kilograms
Must be willing to work in remote job locations
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site
Compensation and Benefits
$44.61 - $45.33 hourly rate
5/2 shift, 8 hours per day – flexible to change per project requirements
Overtime is given at the rate of 1.5 times the employee straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Overtime will be paid when an employee works on any regularly scheduled day off
All compensation and benefits will be in accordance with the Project Labour Agreement
10% vacation pay will be provided in accordance with the Project Labour Agreement
Camp accommodations or Living out Allowance (LOA) provided for work on site
Transportation to site provided

Primary work location at site in Edmonton, Alberta with work and travel required throughout Alberta
