What we are looking for:
Working as part of the production team in a light manufacturing environment, the Production Supervisor will oversee the operations related to the production of high-quality packaging products in a safe and efficient manner. In a fast-paced environment, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process and must be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing cost.
What you will do:
Supervise employees including production, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure 100% quality and on time delivery
Oversee/train department Leads and production employees to ensure the assembly and packaging of parts in a consistent, efficient, and expeditious manner
Provide leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee engagement, achievement, and retention
Responsible for communicating job expectations, providing training regularly to ensure appropriate knowledge of employee skills, coaching and ongoing feedback to ensure the team is meeting performance standards
Collaborate with the operations team to meet production deadlines, optimize workflows, and ensure work instructions are followed
Supervise and train team on production set-up procedures for all applicable machinery. This includes producing first article inspection sample for approval prior to production release.
Evaluate current processes and procedures for efficiency gains while following planned work schedule to meet daily/weekly/monthly production targets
Troubleshoot/coordinate with quality control to maintain quality standards, and take appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies or issues
Coordinate with Plant Manager to proactively plan for time off requests and absences, plan schedules, rest breaks, and meal breaks in order to minimize overtime
Monitor and approve all production personnel time cards
Responsible for ensuring the proper working order of equipment; troubleshooting to diagnose problems, repairs and perform routine preventative maintenance
Provide expertise in the repair, maintenance, installation, and optimization of machinery while escalating issues as necessary. Collaborate with machine manufacturer to diagnose problems as needed
Provides hands on leadership and drives production flow
Conducts time studies on new products to ensure production estimates
Follow established EPE Safety policies, practices, and procedures
Monitor and report daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime
Maintain working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area
Direct and perform work related to packing of material such as stamping, sorting, labeling, palletizing, processing of material, etc.
Work with Plant Manager and Human Resources to ensure consistent and fair disciplinary actions
Ensure a clean and organized warehouse and working environment through high maintenance housekeeping standards
Fill in where required on production line, operating forklift, or driving delivery truck
May be required to adjust schedule to meet business needs (i.e.. truck availability, fluctuation in workload)
Support and comply with all company policies and safety requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed:
1-3 years of progressive leadership experience
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or related environment
Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kanban, Gemba, Takt Time)
Mechanically inclined
Experience interpreting engineering drawings
Experience troubleshooting and analyzing technical equipment
Able to work in a diverse work environment
Strong knowledge of workplace safety in a manufacturing environment
Basic computer knowledge preferred
Experience with NetSuite or similar system preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
