Barrday, a manufacturer of composite materials, is in search of a Maintenance Technician.

SUMMARY
This position has the responsibility for assuring that the facilities, production equipment and grounds are maintained. Through direction of engineering, the incumbent would be responsible for maintaining and performing preventive maintenance. It is important to work as a team with manufacturing to meet the needs of our customers. The specific tasks include both mechanical and some electrical troubleshooting on production equipment and continuous improvement projects. This position requires active participation within the plant operations and management with a pro-active approach for maintaining our assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with engineering to ensure preventative & planned maintenance program requirements are on going and being completed.
Work with manufacturing and engineering to establish process improvements
Recommend changes and equipment that will improve operations safety and production
Coordinate with all departments to bring about safer operations and improve quality
Write requests for parts and service either in e-mail or PO requisitions form
Serve on an on-call (off shift) basis to service and keep production machines and related equipment operational
Other duties may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/Trade school in the mechanical studies or equivalent experience
Minimum 5+ years experience in maintenance, i.e. chain, gear, fluid & belt drive trains
Fork lift, crane and hoist experience
Operation of machine shop equipment to make parts
Reliable self-starter who is flexible and adaptable with good listening and organizational skills
Able to lift, climb, work in tight areas
Lathe, welding, power tool, hand tools
Solid mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge
Safe working practices and use of safety equipment
Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Self-motivated to seek out necessary training & development to become more knowledgeable with Barrday machinery
OTHER:
OSHA Compliance, Hazmat waste management and handling.
Boiler operations & maintenance experience, boiler operation licensing, very desirable.
Licensing in related fields a strong plus, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical.
Ability to work within the safety guidelines of a chemical company
Ability to climb ladders and rooftops
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 50lbs.

Considerable lifting and loading (with assistance of appropriate tools and machines)
