Position Summary:
The Missouri Historical Society seeks an IT Support Specialist to team with an important part of a small and dynamic IT department. This position will support the Missouri Historical Society's IT system's users and infrastructure.
Essential Functions:
User support and training - both remotely and in-person
Server and Active Directory support and administration
Working with and supporting our Office 365 environment and applications
Handling calls, email requests, and support tickets
Working with PCs, Macs, smartphones and other hardware and software, including installation, support/troubleshooting, upgrades, and replacement
Printer support
User onboarding and offboarding
Phone system support
Hardware and software installation and upgrades
VMWare support and administration
Working with building cabling, including tracing cables and doing and/or assisting with minor cable installation and troubleshooting tasks
Assisting other IT Department personnel as needed
Some travel between local sites will be required
Some physical work - equipment moves, rack mounting, etc, will be required
Very occasional after-hours work will be required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or secondary education degree
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical skills
Valid driver's license
Desire to learn new things!
Preferred experience with the following systems:
Windows desktops/laptops
Network hardware ( routers, switches and cameras)
Microsoft Office 365 environment
Windows servers and Active Directory
Mac desktops/laptops
Linux system administration
Video conferencing
Familiarity with server/telco racks
Web hosting environments
VMWare
Cisco routers and switches
Solarwinds administration
Some familiarity with general building wiring
Security incident response
Office desktop and Office365
Avaya phone systems
General troubleshooting and problem solving
Skills:
Ability to interact with others and communicate clearly and courteously
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to constructively work with fellow employees and vendors
Ability to be self-directed when needed
