Motor Mechanic Apprentice job summary
Our long-standing, West Texas manufacturing client is seeking an eager and dependable Motor Mechanic Apprenticeto teardown/assemble and ultimately learn how to build motors and prepare parts for production. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional mechanical aptitude, dexterity, and an eagerness to grow their career.
Motor Mechanic Apprentice responsibilities
Analyze all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches to assemble and install desired product or part. Detect errors and correct through proper departmental channels.
Check all structural components prior to installation to prevent damage.
Knowledge of submersible motor repair and modifications.
Working knowledge of configuration and special instructions prior to installation.
Complete knowledge of all related skill area machines, equipment, and hand tools.
Teardown of repair motors
Perform inspections of motors.
Clean parts and run various testing
Assemble and re-assemble of new and repair motors
Maintain all storage areas in an organized and clean manner.
Pull and deliver components to other depts. as required.
Prepare motor components for reassembly including but not limited to blasting, cleaning, and filing, chasing threads, stripping, and painting.
Work with other depts. through Supervisor to blast sub-assemblies, such as cores and flanges.
Prepare and clean parts to obtain necessary condition for rebuilding motors.
Use Epicor MES computer systems daily
Motor Mechanic Apprentice requirements
High School graduate or GED
2+ years’ mechanical experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the aforementioned tasks.
Experience with Epicor MES
Impeccable attention to detail when completing reports to ensure quality information
Basic set of mechanical tools
Steel toe boots
