Summary:

The Mitigation Technician plays a crucial role in restoring properties damaged by water, fire, mold, or other disasters. This position requires swift response, technical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to excellent customer service in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to property damage emergencies, assess the situation, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Water Extraction and Drying: Efficiently extract water, set up drying equipment (dehumidifiers, air movers, etc.), and monitor the drying process, taking moisture readings as needed.

Demolition and Removal: Carefully remove damaged building materials (drywall, flooring, etc.) using hand and power tools while preserving salvageable elements.

Mold Remediation: Identify mold-affected areas, perform containment, and assist with mold remediation following established safety protocols.

Documentation: Accurately document all work performed, job conditions, and moisture readings for tracking and reporting purposes.

Customer Communication: Interact professionally with homeowners and clients, providing progress updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns with empathy.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and clean equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous restoration/construction experience preferred.

Valid driver's license.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more) and work in physically demanding conditions.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call for emergencies.

Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand/power tools.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Desired Certifications:

IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT)

IICRC Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD)

OSHA safety certifications
