The LCA/EPD Specialist will be an integral part of the sustainability team, responsible for delivering product sustainability verification services with a focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based solutions. This role will entail creating, critically reviewing, and verifying Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), while also providing support to internal and external project delivery resources.

Key responsibilities

Leading the development and certification of carbon assessment tools

Guiding carbon reduction strategies through LCA assessments

Identifying process improvement opportunities

Integrating supplier data into our LCA tools

Developing modeling techniques and conducting analyses to understand life cycle impacts of products

Innovating new life cycle impact assessment techniques

Supporting organizational greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction strategies

Enhancing efficiencies and reducing environmental impacts across the product life cycle, from design to end-of-life.

Overall Responsibilities:

Develop and certify lifecycle assessment (LCA) models for Tarkett products.

Lead carbon reduction strategies for individual products and business units.

Utilize LCA to pinpoint areas of greatest environmental impact.

Establish methodologies for evaluating carbon impacts from TNA suppliers and integrate this data into TNA's LCA models.

Monitor and report progress on carbon reduction efforts in alignment with company objectives.

Serve as a peer leader in cross-functional teams for the development of LCAs and EPDs.

Produce ISO-compliant LCA study reports and EPDs.

Evaluate the embodied emissions of products, supply chain sustainability, and other relevant impact categories.

Contribute to the development of unit processes and environmentally extended input-output models.

Provide support for corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including the development of greenhouse gas inventories, as required.

Calculate carbon footprint of scope 3 at Division level. Develop models and tools allowing regular updating. Monitor and report progress on carbon reduction efforts in alignment with company objectives.

Education and Experience Required:

University degree, 5+ years’ experience

Experience in LCA and carbon footprint

Experience in EPD development and verification process

Knowledge of climate standards (SBTi, CDP)

Knowledge in supply chain and carbon assessment

Very strong analytical skills.

Knowledge of simapro program a plus

Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and high-level modeling tools.

Very strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Experience conducting GHG emissions inventories

Knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ISO 1404X, ISO 1402X, and/or related standards
