WHO WE ARE

The office of Harry H. Huang M.D., P.A. is a fast-paced, tech-forward Ophthalmology practice with two physicians located in Bethesda, MD. Our physicians believe in utilizing the most advanced, cutting-edge ophthalmic technology to provide personalized, high-quality patient care. Our office strives to build long-lasting, strong relationships with patients by combining our physicians’ expertise with an atmosphere of warmth, optimism, and reassurance.

THE POSITION

The Ophthalmic Technician (Medical Assistant) is a direct patient care position, where the individual will be working directly with our physicians as well as the rest of the Tech team. Our physicians pride themselves on their passion for fostering talented medical professionals, so individuals who come into our office should have a strong desire to learn and grow their knowledge of the medical field. Many of our previous technicians have successfully gone on to attend Medical, Physician Assistant and Nursing schools, and other graduate programs.

After extensive training is provided, the Ophthalmic Technician’s daily responsibilities will include:

Screening patients and documenting personal and family histories, medications, chief complaints, etc.

Checking visual acuity

Performing diagnostic testing using state-of-the art technology such as visual fields, fundus photography, optical coherence topography and specular microscopy

Educating patients regarding cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration

Taking measurements for cataract surgery

Prepping patients for laser procedures

Managing the flow of the office as well as performing other tasks as needed

Ophthalmic Technicians also have the opportunity to see the surgical side of the practice and observe cataract surgery alongside the physicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a motivated, enthusiastic individual who thrives in fast-paced environments

You are excited to be fully immersed in all aspects of patient care and work directly with patients every single day

You have a Bachelor's degree with a strong science background OR prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician

You have prior patient care experience (preferred, but not required)Company Description
