Our client a growing heavy civil construction is seeking a strong HEAVY CIVIL SUPERINTENDENT.

Job Functions:

The Superintendent directs the activities of workers engaged in construction and maintenance. Responsible for managing the company’s policies and expectations for safety, quality, and productivity. Studies contract requirements and scope of work to establish execution plan for construction maintenance on basis of starting and completion times, staffing requirements for each phase of projects based on knowledge of available engineering drawings, materials, equipment, and schedule durations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures a safe work environment for all employees.

• Assembles members of the organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers) at the start of the project.

• Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.

• Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work phases of each project to achieve schedules.

• Confers with and directs subordinate supervisory personnel to perform contract work scope.

• Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve problems and improve construction/maintenance methods

• Inspects and supervises all work in progress at all levels and work locations to ensure that work conforms to specifications and that production schedules are adhered to.

• Prepares or receives from subordinates, reports on productivity, progress, materials used, cost, and adjusts work schedules and execution plans as indicated by reports.

• May direct workers involved in major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations. Workers are usually designated according to the type of project, work construction activity directed, and skill sets required.

• Establishes and oversees the means, methods, and schedule for performance of the scope of work.

• Any other duties or tasks that may be assigned

Requirements:

• 5+ years of previous experience as a Superintendent in Heavy Civil Construction.

• Must possess a broad understanding of all aspects of construction including on-site inspection, verification of conformance with Contract Documents, scheduling, project budget/costs, progress reporting, and project closeout.

• Must possess strong leadership ability to supervise team members, sub-contractors, and provide administrative backup to achieve our client’s total satisfaction.

• Must interface with our client and make sure any problems that arise are resolved quickly.

• Adhere to strict safety standards and procedures
