Yard Operator

ASHLAND, VA

Job Type: Full-time

Comp: $17.50/hr.

Shift: Days, M-F 7:30am – 4:30pm

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Yard Operator in Ashland, VA. This position requires prior experience operating an outdoor rated sit-down forklift. No training offered. Must be able to start immediately.

Responsibilities:

Loading and unloading flatbed trucks using an outdoor rated sit-down forklift.

Complete tasks within predefined parameters according to job needs.

Work with outbound and inbound truck freight loading and unloading.

Yard clean-up when there are no trucks to load, e.g., broken pallets, plastic wrap, straps, i.e.

Follow all company safety and operation procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Warehouse/manufacturing experience operating Sit-Down. Certifications a plus.

Ability to work outside in the yard in various weather conditions.

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Communication skills (verbal and written).

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Consistent work history.

Attention to details.

Physical ability to lift heavy weights.
