Maintenance Engineer (Chemical Production/Manufacturing/FMCG)

Shifts: Mon-Thurs (22.00-06.00), Fri (17.45-23.00)

Salary: £43,138.01pa including (Shift Allowance)

POSITION SUMMARY

As a permanent Nights Maintenance Technician, or Engineer you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient running, maintenance, changeover and troubleshooting of the powder, fluids and filling production lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will play an active role in the delivery of departmental performance targets such as OEE, right first time (RFT), waste and yield

Complete basic equipment condition monitoring, preventative maintenance duties and basic engineering repairs

Liaise with Production Shift Managers to identify priorities.

Monitor line performance and problems arising and feedback to the shift manager/Engineering Team Leader/PPM & CI Manager.

Escalate issues surrounding set up and machinery efficiencies to the shift managers and engineers.

An effective team player with the ability to participate in multidisciplinary teams

Ensuring compliance with established or new audit requirements.

Ensuring machinery fills, caps, labels and packages correctly

Makes effective repairs to machinery using established methodology.

Application, development and improvement of AM and PM systems to ensure efficient running of the plant.

Ensures machinery runs effectively and efficiently by the application of PM system

Plays a key role in the introduction of all new machinery and associated technologies to site

Improvement of line effectiveness by use of breakdown investigations.

Reduction of changeover times through use of appropriate techniques

Complies with site safety systems to the required level

Complies with local legislation and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Eliminating all leaks and spills from site

Active participation in site improvement process (CPPS)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications C&G, NVQ or Degree level essential or proven background where you have applied practical operational skills, including mechanical and electrical will be considered.

Previous experience within a Manufacturing Industry – Various Industries considered: Packaging, Food, FMCG or Maintenance environments preferred.

Excellent problem solving and solution resolution, able to demonstrate a working knowledge of problem solving and root cause analysis using appropriate tools and techniques.

An ability to uncover facts to agree root causes of problems, reviewing and developing usable solutions, which boost factory performance.

Creative approach to solving problems and being committed to raising and following those creative solutions to relevant stakeholders, departments or colleagues involved.

Initiative to solve problems and do what is necessary to complete a better job, working within safe practices and within Diversey guidelines at all times.

Thorough practical knowledge and experience in site processes and with

suitable electrical and mechanical experience.

A sound working knowledge of Maintenance techniques associated with autonomous, preventative and predictive maintenance.

Awareness of workplace and chemical hazards with the associated regulations is desirable.

Sound Knowledge of MS packages including Word and Excel.
