Responsibilities:
Assist with Watercourse maintenance:
Inspection of stormwater maintenance facilities and stream reaches,
Brush cutting, trimming, debris clean up, and fence repairs.
Responding to emergency spills
Assist with Pipe repairs, ditching and sediment removal:
Inspection of ditches and culverts throughout the city and assessing and providing recommendation for repair/replacement
Perform repairs on ditches, culverts, and stormwater/sanitary sewer main and services.
Remove sediment accumulated in ditches, culverts (inlets/outlets), and watercourses.
Assist in flushing and cleaning of storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure.
Assist in pumping station wet well cleaning.
Operation of snow removal equipment, as required in the winter.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent.
Valid MTO “DZ” class driver’s license in good standing and ability to provide Drivers Abstract at your own expense as a condition of employment.
Preference given to applicants with Wastewater Collection License.
Reliable and dependable with the ability to participate as an effective team member.
Must be “competent” under Occupational Health and Safety Act by having the knowledge, training, and experience, know the regulations that apply to the work, and have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace.
Ability to effectively work with and interact with customers.
Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
