Senior Production Engineer, Polymers

The Sr Production Engineer monitors, troubleshoots, and optimizes operating unit key process variables to drive process and product improvements, while maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Develop and Implement systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, equipment reliability, cost and quality.

Apply technical knowledge to detect causes of deviations in quality, capacity, yield, and energy consumption or provide training to less experienced engineers.

Participate and/or lead Reliability Improvement team and sub-groups.

Develop initial scope and business case for improvements projects.

Develop, modify, and/or review operational procedures, including commissioning and start-up procedures for new equipment.

Lead root cause discovery studies to resolve plant process and equipment related issues.

Specify process conditions needed to produce new or modified products, in conjunction with the Quality representative.

Assists in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and nonconforming products.

Help coordinate and plan special product trials.

Flexibility to work additional unscheduled hours if needed (including weekends and holidays), given advanced notice.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

0-5 years professional work experience.

Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).

Possess skills to be able to contribute in a team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results.

Self-motivated, and results oriented.

Strong written and verbal communications, as well as computer skills.

Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
