Our client, a world leader in Pharmaceuticals & In vitro diagnostics (IVD), is looking for an "Engineering Technician I".

Job Type: Long-term Contract (Possibility Of Further Extension)

Location: San Jose, CA

Responsibilities:

Perform engineering experiments by following instructions and perform visual inspections

Process and test wafers and parts using defined procedures

Operate testing instrument and inspection equipment (optical microscope,

SEM, etc) and interpret results

Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of

Control conditions including defect troubleshooting

Recover from process and tool interruptions

Use standard software applications and specific programs creating reports and

documenting procedures

Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool

availability, cycle time, utilization and cost

Complete all required reporting and documentation

Skills & Experience:

High School Degree (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant experience

Experience with wafer manufacturing and assembly of complex electro-mechanical devices, preferably for a microfluidic, biological lab-on-a-chip purpose a plus

Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor
