Title: Clinical Supervisor, Mental Health - Part Time

Description:

Acts in the capacity of an Independently Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts. Provides intensive education and clinical oversight to therapists as they offer services to clients with identified mental health, emotional health or substance abuse conditions. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for guiding therapists as they engage clients and their families/significant others through both the Mental Health and Substance Dependency treatment process. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that the therapist prepares all required case notes and documentation with the highest possible quality. All Initial Bio-Psychosocial Comprehensive Assessments, Treatment Plans, and other required documentation are expected to be completed by the therapist(s) and reviewed, approved, and signed by the Clinical Supervisor timely and in alignment with all regulatory documentation requirements. The Supervisor is also expected periodically to conduct appropriate and effective group/individual therapy sessions and participate in treatment planning to assure that the needs of clients and families are met throughout the continuity of care.

Essential Job Functions:

Trains, instructs and evaluates therapists.

Effectively communicates program, administrative, and clinical guidance in accordance to established regulations and organizational policy and procedures.

Discusses problem/complex cases with therapists and makes suggestions and recommendations.

Reviews case records and chart documentation for completeness, consistency, and quality of mental health services provided including application of proper techniques. Also, ensures compliance with state and federal mandates.

Consults with assigned/individual therapists to promote clinical development and to suggest solutions to problem cases.

Studies and makes suggestions and recommendations on special, complicated, or problem cases.

Confers with Clinical Supervisors and Administrators concerning human resources and ethical issues or concerns.

Assists in planning, developing, and implementing mandatory and discretionary mental health programs in accordance with applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations by determining type and level of services to be provided; measures of quality-assurance to be employed; and formulating and carrying out policies and procedures.

Keeps informed of new developments in the field of intensive outpatient programs, psychiatric social work or marriage and family therapy.

Identifies staff training and development requirements and provides training and guidance to administrative and clinical staff to ensure mental health services delivery effectiveness.

Requirements:

Master’s Degree in the field of Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a Human Service-related field, from an accredited college/university

Must be a licensed professional, (i.e. LMFT-S, LPC-S, LIMSW, LISW-CP or Psy.D)

Able to pass a Level II background check.

Valid driver's license with clean driving record and state minimum required vehicle insurance coverage

Being bilingual is not required but is a preferred skill for this position.
