Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 USD/year

MRO MaryRuth, LLC is looking for an experienced Shopper Marketing Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and executing our national retail strategy. The primary focuses will be overseeing our in-store retail marketing efforts, developing in-store programming and best-in-class POS, executing trade shows, supporting our online wholesale retailers and supporting the sales team to ensure that we achieve our sales goals. The Shopper Marketing Manager will report directly to the Head of Sales, within the Sales Department. This is a full-time (40 hr/wk), salary-exempt, fully remote position with a salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 USD/year. Travel will be up to 20% (domestic) as the position requires.

Responsibilities

● Gathers and analyzes information to identify new markets and customers, demand for products and services, and efficacy of existing shopper marketing campaigns and strategies to drive creative solutions.

● Drives brands with shopper insight-led strategy and shopper activation plans with select customers using both in-store and digital (Omnichannel) executions along the shopper’s path to purchase in the given category/retailer.

● Understands brand and retailer strategies/objectives and partnering with customer teams to develop and execute integrated customer business plans.

● Develops and manages creative process and obtains approval of programs, claims, and assets across various shopper activation tools.

● Develops clear creative briefs for internal and 3rd party vendors/agencies for creative and/or campaign development to enable successful execution.

● Manages and tracks programs with allocated budgets.

● Develops critical KPIs for every program and performs post-analytics on programs to understand ROI/ROAS and other key learnings to improve efficiency and effectiveness of future programs.

● Responsible for execution of the 5 P’s of marketing.

● Collaborates cross-functionally to conduct market research, sales forecasting, and strategic planning to assess and ensure the sale and profitability of products.

● Conducts pricing research and analysis to ensure competitive product pricing.

● Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the market; identifies needs for new products and makes recommendations to leadership.

● Manages budget and return on investment (ROI) for all shopper marketing initiatives.

● Collaborates and leads cross-functional communication with Sales and Marketing teams in support of shopper marketing initiatives across the US.

● Composes, develops, evaluates, and conducts training on shopper marketing activities, strategies, and policies; in addition, oversees integrated retail marketing calendar, including trade shows.

● Collaborates, participates in, and coordinates promotional activities or trade shows.

● Develops and present strategies for retail clients for marketing and promotions, with the goal of generating retailer support and superior execution of programs in-store.

● Works directly with retail partners on the development of promotional programs, loyalty card promotions, and CPG app-based platforms (i.e. ibotta, Instacart, etc.).

● Identifies and develop necessary visibility tools including point of sale, racks, shelving and all assets to increase brand presence, market share and improve customer experience in-store.

● Prioritizes vendor selection to ensure the company is receiving maximum benefit for its investment in the delivery of retail marketing promotions and activities.

● Manages and track all coupon and redemption activity/promotional discounting programs.

● Assists brand team with product launch plans, and brand education for sales team and distribution partners

● Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

● A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the CPG retail industry with a demonstrated track

record of effective shopper marketing management or brand management

● Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem-solving skills

● Desire to learn more about all aspects of the VMS Category

● Strong understanding of the retail brick and mortar business and the drivers of the business

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Strong project management and leadership skills.

● Ability to create, implement, and monitor budgets.

● Thorough understanding of principles and methods used to promote, display, and sell

products and services.

● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other related software.

Physical Requirements

● Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force

frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

● This role involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief

periods of time.
