Data Science Engineering Internship: Feasibility Study For

Introduction

Background information

The throughput regression analysis performed on ASML machines is one of the main tasks of the Productivity EUV team. These analyses are currently performed in a manual fashion, requiring dedicated time from our engineers, which can vary depending on their level of seniority.

Your assignment

Considering the increasing number of machine configurations that are being developed in the EUV line, this approach will shortly become inefficient. This inefficiency will create the need to reduce the amount of time an engineer spends on the analysis by automating as many steps as possible on this process. A first step towards this end goal is to conduct a feasibility study of the different possible solutions, setting the ground for further specialized development.

Your tasks may include, but are not limited to:

Identify and classify the different failure modes regarding throughput of the ASML machines;

Identify and simplify the steps of the regression analysis process

Automate the simple steps of the process;

Evaluate statistical techniques for automating the complex steps of the process;

Design a proof of concept of an automated analysis;

Develop a new implementation and/or extend the already existing script (coding).

Your profile

To be a match for this internship, you:

Are busy with your master's in Data Science or a related engineering field;

Are capable of handling, analyzing and visualizing high-volume data;

Are skilled in programming with Python and/or MATLAB;

Are knowledgeable in machine learning (plus);

Have a strong interest in dealing with data;

Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is an internship for 3-5 days a week with a duration of minimum 6 months. The start date is as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
