About the Team:

The IT Enterprise Recovery Services team takes care of the administration and management of the Backup/Recovery environment within ZF globally. It supports operational excellence as well as different IT projects, focusing on standardized Recovery for ZF’s on-premises and Cloud based infrastructure. It’s an international team, passionate about IT technologies, with a strong knowledge-sharing culture and a positive working environment.

What you can look forward to as a Recovery Administrator:

Ensure Recovery KPIs are maintained and that backups are completed within expected time windows

Lead install of Recovery environment upgrades / patches for the America region

Research, identify, test and propose improvements to the Recovery environment in order to improve efficiency.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Backup/Recovery failures, performance, etc.

Support Recovery automation initiatives utilizing Ansible, Python, API integration.

Support testing / documentation of backup procedures for new applications requiring backup such as PostgreSQL, Mongo, OpenShift, etc.

Support the various data types that we protect including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, VMware, & Kubernetes.

Install, configure, and maintain Operating Systems including the latest Windows Server and Suse Linux versions.

Assist System Architects and area management with day-to-day activities related to forecasting growth, upgrade planning, integration/divestures, and proof of concepts.

Communicate technical concepts, information, and service-related topics to all levels of the organization.

Adhere to global IT standards and coordinate related activities with global IT teams.

Participate in afterhours “on-call” rotations.

Develop working relationships with internal and external business partners.

Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing, and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Profile as a Recovery Administrator:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related technical field

3-6+ years of related experience

Experience supporting a Backup/Recovery platform a must (preferably EMC Networker, Commvault, or Rubrik).

Proficient in automating utilizing Ansible, Python, and RestAPI

5+ years of experience (including co-op/internship experience) in the IT field encompassing a majority of the following areas – VMWare vSphere, HP Server Hardware, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Server patch management update processes, Linux operating systems, Security concepts and implementation (NTFS, O/S hardening, etc.), shared storage systems, and advanced server hardware concepts (clustering, etc.).

5+ years of experience providing customer support and resolution regarding technical issues

Experience with the design and deployment of replicated technologies for Disaster Recovery

Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Clustering

Proven analytical abilities in addition to strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Proven ability to diagnose performance issues and tune system performance

Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-volume environment

Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
