Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in Fort Irwin, California to support our Deep Space Network (DSN) program with JPL and NASA.
The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Facilities Maintenance knowledge base, Operation and Maintenance focus, as well as the ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Serves to guide the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) by GDSCC Engineers and Technicians
Provide technical guidance and training to technical personnel
Perform all duties consistent with this classification as assigned
Interface with appropriate Operations Engineering (OE) personnel as well as Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) engineering
Interface with internal and external customers to exceed their expectations
Analyze problems and direct repair of facilities maintenance and operations
Document corrective action and analysis of problems using the DRMS and MAXIMO CMMS maintenance data bases
Provide corrections and feedback to the appropriate Operation Engineer and customer Cognizant Design Engineers (CDE)
Provide input for Engineering Design and Requirements Definition

This leadership position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of a wide-ranging technical tasks and functions in the field of Facilities Operations and Maintenance.
Ensures all activities are carried out in accordance with project commitments, goals and objectives.
Responsible for day-to-day coordination and administration of tasks by ensuring technical, quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting client schedules.
Coordinates with other Peraton, contract and vendor personnel to ensure work moves smoothly from one functional area to another.
Works as project manager and/or client representative to prepare work schedules in MS Project as well as material and labor estimates.
Will function as an individual contributor leading a project team of engineers and technicians in a matrixed, advanced technology organizational environment.
Provides effective management of project plans, maintenance, spare parts and operations – including work instructions, task status analysis, cost reports, and other project monitoring/control related documents.
Ensures business management administrative tools are effectively used to control and accomplish tasks.
Position will require control of advance communications technology security protocols for protection of sensitive and proprietary information.
Assists with writing advanced technology equipment technical manuals and other documentation.
Responsible for status and task management reports for area of responsibility. Will be responsible set up and manage project facilities from inception to completion.
Performs analysis, design review, and mechatronic system analysis for operations and maintenance, manufacturing, software, or engineering quality initiatives.
Defines, interprets, and develops quality standards for receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
Investigates and analyzes unique or technical manufacturing and customer issues providing technical assistance in establishing procedures and methods.
Reviews and evaluates process rejections and trends as well as identifying and implementing corrective action as needed. Interfaces with customers, vendors, and all company departments to resolve technical and quality problems.
Performs technical surveillance of a complex nature in the control of product, design concepts, software, and specification requirements.
Provides leadership in the areas of producibility, testability, manufacturability, process engineering, process improvement, and training of other technicians in these areas.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
BS degree, Trade School or equivalent education or experience
2 - 4 years of experience
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, software and control systems fundamentals is required
Working knowledge of the facilities operating systems, test equipment as well as the site-specific Maintenance Management software and equipment.
Must be capable of recognizing potential hazards and following/guiding others in all safety and equipment procedures.
Must be able to follow applicable regulatory agency and site-specific guidelines and to properly document job-related activities and provide guidance to others
Ability to work on site four (4) days per week, up to 10 hours per day
Ability to access field locations where systems, support equipment, tooling and test equipment are installed, including climbing of antenna structures as high as 210 feet above ground level.
Must able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Target Salary Range:
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
