RN Wound Care Nurse

Full-Time

What You'll Do:

As the Wound Care Nurse, you'll be responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring wound conditions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Your care planning and interventions will improve wound healing and enhance the comfort and quality of life our residents. You will be practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator to raise the overall quality of care to individuals with complex wound care needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide oversight and expertise of wound care and prevention program for residents and staff

Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients exhibiting skin complications

Provide direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation

Review, update and direct the implementation of wound care & prevention policies and procedures

Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment modalities

Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention strategies

Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care

Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulartory compliance and reimbursement

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Wound Care Nurse include:

Valid state RN nursing license

Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, microbiology preferred

2+ years in wound care management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting

Familiar with research-backed wound care and cleansing products

Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Certification preferred

Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills

Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound care needs

Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
