Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are an exciting, fully funded stealth startup looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design of consumer, medical, or automotive parts for medium to large scale manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with new product introduction, including scaling from prototype to volume production using contract manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities

Design of new injection molded parts for an electromechanical system

Redesign of existing parts with DFM/DFA optimization

Route wire harnessing and design PCB structural interfaces

Coordinate with tooling designers and contract manufacturers for high rate production of parts

Periodically assist with general mechanical design including fixtures and test setups as needed to support manufacturing where needed

Requirements

Engineering degree in a relevant field

5+ years of mechanical design experience for consumer products, medical devices, or automotive

Strong CAD skills with Solidworks including working with complex surfaces

Experience in the design of products with plastic and electrical components, in volumes greater than 100,000 units

Knowledge of advanced injection molding process capabilities, and experience in design of injection molded parts
