About the Programs:

Family Based Mental Health (FBMH)

The overarching goal of this program is to keep families together. FBMH promotes family unity and works toward reducing the need for out-of-home placement such as psychiatric hospitalizations and residential treatment facilities. A wide range of services are provided by the FBMH team including but not limited to; therapeutic interventions, education and skills building, case management, and family support services. This program is voluntary, and time limited to generally not more than 32 weeks depending on the needs of the family. The highly intensive program also offers a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week Hospital Diversion/Crisis Stabilization component available to the families.

Maintaining Strengths Program (MSP)

As a specialized Mobile Therapist, the Maintaining Strengths Program works to strengthen and maintain the family, improve coping skills, teach family members to care for their child/adolescent and to serve as an advocate for their child/adolescent. This treatment model involves family therapy services. The main focus of this treatment is with the child/adolescent and family strengths. The service can take place in the home, school or a community setting. The Maintaining Strengths Program was developed to keep the family together. The program is usually used as a step down from Family-Based Therapy, but it can also be used as a step up from IBHS and outpatient therapy. This program is voluntary, and time limited to nine months.
