Position: Banquet Set Up- Part Time
Reports to: Manager of Banquet Operations
Job Summary: Set up and take down banquet room and function areas of Resort events. This job is also responsibility for effective set up and AV needs done for the events.
Salary: $13 an hour + tips
Duties
Willingness to accept the most effective role.
Execution of all catering functions including set-up and AV services: Set up of function rooms to include placement of tables, AV equipment, linens, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications.
Be able to read and understand Banquet Event Orders and function sheets.
Review daily and weekly function sheets along with understanding the layout strategies for set-up; making sure to set up all areas correctly before guests arrive.
Set up and take down of buffets, breaks and room sets
Visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up.
Cleanup of function rooms and properly breakdown and store equipment, including returning unused food to the kitchen, break down hard set (tables, chairs, AV equipment), and returning function items (large wares, spoons, chaffers) to correct areas to ensure all items are secured after an event.
Communicate with management team about counts of food and beverage at the end of events for the billing information
Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
Weekend and evening availability - Limited request off during weekends and busy periods for the Resort
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
Able to work (am/pm) depending on operational needs
Ability to work on a team
Projects a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust
Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs., sit and/or stand for long periods on your feet most of the time
Carry a tray 50 feet safely
Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs and have the ability to travel throughout the property quickly.
