JOB DESCRIPTION

Pacific is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing to join their team. Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, the Manager of Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process from initial quotation to final commissioning of the machines, including mechanical & electrical assembly, parts manufacturing (machining and fabrication), factory and site acceptance testing in the build and installation/support of filling & capping machinery and related equipment.

The Manager of Manufacturing guides the work of subordinates to achieve the day-to-day tasks, business goals and strategic objectives. In addition to managing actual customer projects, The Manager of Manufacturing also develops business processes, tools, and programs that improve project execution effectiveness across the entire life cycle. Broad strategic & tactical acumen coupled with deep product knowledge and technical skills are required.

This position is directly responsible for managing plant safety, facilities management, and manufacturing quality, as well as capacity planning, utilization, scheduling, and shop order management. The Manager of Manufacturing supervises and plans all manufacturing activities while balancing tactical and strategic business directives. The Manager of Manufacturing must also be ready to demonstrate their skill and experience in a manufacturing environment delivering continuous improvement and driving behavioral discipline in the people. The primary goal of the Manager of Manufacturing is to ensure that all manufacturing processes and related activities operate at the highest levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost performance; and making sure all projects are On-time, On-Budget, and On-Quality….Always!

A wide degree of creativity, latitude, tactical and strategic initiative is expected. Reporting to the position will be manufacturing supervisors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and drive day-to-day production schedules, operational and plant activities in accordance with business goals and objectives.

Runs daily meetings and provides timely updates and information to key stakeholders.

Lead manufacturing process improvement utilizing the concepts and techniques of lean, Six Sigma, and industry (and company) best practices.

Maintaining and enforcing safety protocols and compliance guidelines.

Review engineering recommended process changes to ensure process is appropriate with operating goals.

Coordinate maintenance and repair of machines to avoid downtime and delays, ensure production process and machinery comply with customer specifications and professional and safety standards.

Monitor budget and utilize operational resources, participate in safety program development.

Manage the selection, training and development of production staff.

Manages intra-department and inter-department communication, reporting tools, and systems.

Collaborates effectively across all functions on business initiatives and daily order execution.

Manages production budget while adhering to overtime, labor, and materials requirements.

Enforces system and company policies and procedures. Actively participates with the management team to support and implement initiatives.

Develops and drives key performance indicators to the highest standards of performance in safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Develops and accelerates team performance through formalized training plans, coaching, and performance management.

Provides support to other functions in determining manufacturing capabilities, product lead times, and cost estimates.

Participates and leads projects aimed at improving on time delivery and inventory turns; reducing cost of quality; and increasing productivity.

Conducts problem-solving and continuous improvement as a daily norm.

Engages with the teams to provides hands on support for troubleshooting issues plaguing production performance and dispute resolution.

Responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality standards for all products.

Manages human and material resources to meet production targets.

Implement business process standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

Own quality control for Pacific.

Drive problem-solving and corrective actions.

Drive lessons learned reviews with stakeholders.

Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols.

Work collaboratively with functional leaders to implement new procedures and corrective actions to improve quality.

Enhancing department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

5-8 years’ experience in manufacturing operations, which could include project management, engineering, quality, manufacturing, or production in a design-to-build environment.

Engineering understanding of machined and fabricated parts as well as understanding of machinery and electrical assembly.

Knowledge and experience in packaging machinery preferred.

Ability to analyze and appropriately determine schedule priorities and how they relate to the engineering department as well as manufacturing and assembly.

Familiarization of lean practices and methodologies.

Proven track record of managerial expertise of departments of 30 plus employees, involving manufacturing-based problem solving, personnel management and employee morale development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word/Excel) and knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role.

Results-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, professional etiquette, customer-service-oriented with the demonstrated ability to lead, coach and inspire others to the same behaviors.

Analytical thinker and passion for root-cause problem solving.

BENEFITS

Salary range is determined based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position. These components, along with local and national compensation survey data, contribute to determining a candidate's potential starting rate of pay.

Salary Range: $74,800.00 – $128,700.00
