Full Time - Behavioral Medicine Director of Plant Operations and Safety

Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine - a comprehensive inpatient behavioral health facility. Our center will provide acute behavioral health care and outpatient treatment to adults and geriatric adults who are in crisis from severe symptoms related to behavioral health and/or substance use disorder.

The Director of Plant Operations and Safety is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance of the buildings, grounds, fixtures, and facility equipment. In addition, they ensure a continuous safe operation of the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Program and Safety Program. Areas of oversite may include two (2) or more of the following departments: security, maintenance, facilities, materials management, and housekeeping.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technical field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience: Required: Two years college level construction trade education and a minimum of five (5) years of construction/maintenance experience OR a minimum of ten (10) years construction/maintenance supervisory experience.

Certified Healthcare Facilities Management, (CHFM) Preferred.

Ability to manage multiple vendors.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid state driver's license with F-endorsement (if required by state).

First Aid, CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

Job Details:

64-bed acute inpatient setting

IOP/PHP oversight

Adult and Geriatric client population

Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment

Acute intervention focus with short term stays

Joint venture/Professional partnerships between NHC, Tennova and University of Tennessee – Knoxville

Responsibilities:

Oversee general building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, minor repairs, and electrical work.

Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on all equipment.

Ensure the facility is in a sanitary, attractive, safe, orderly condition, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.

Ensure proper operations and maintenance of water supplies, emergency electrical systems, sewage systems, primary electrical systems, telephone systems, fire alarm systems, heating, and cooling systems.

Develop facility maintenance plans, timetables for completion, and recommendations for maintenance projects.

Respond to facility fire and disaster situations immediately and assist per emergency plans.

Coordinate outside service vendors/contractors and maintenance staff to complete projects as assigned/necessary.
