JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Asst Manager – Welfare & Admin

Reports To: Deputy General Manager - People Business Enabler

Role Type: Individual Contribution

Location: Mysuru

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The role of the Welfare officer cum Admin In charge is responsible for ensuring the Welfare activities and facility management provided at the factory follow the governance of the Factories Act, 1948, and the SKF standards in facility management. Assessing the requirements, preparing the business case in line with a cost-effective thought process, and crisis management are other major roles to play.

Key Activities / Accountabilities

Welfare

To promote harmonious relations between the factory management and employees.

Assess the needs of individuals and develop plans to address those needs.

Connect individuals with appropriate resources and services, such as counselling.

Advocate for individuals and ensure their rights are protected.

Collaborate with other professionals, such as social employees, counsellors, and healthcare providers to provide comprehensive support to individuals.

Monitor industrial relations.

Advise the management about the fulfilment of statutory obligations, otherwise concerning the regulation of working hours, maternity benefits, medical care, compensation for injuries and sickness and other welfare and social benefits measures, maintaining of safe work, the enabling provisions under section 40B.

Guide the factory management on the regulation of employees in the factory.

To act as a liaison officer between the management and employees.

To encourage the formation of works and joint productions committees and welfare committees and supervise their work.

To secure provision of amenities, such as canteen, shelters for rest, creches, adequate latrines facilities, drinking water, sickness and benevolent scheme payments, pensions and superannuation funds, gratuity payment, granting of loans and legal advice to employees.

To advise on provisions of welfare facilities like housing, foodstuffs, social and recreational facilities, sanitation, advice on individual personal problems and children's education.

SPOC for all the insurances such as GMC, GPA, GTL etc

Admin

Canteen Management – Conducting Canteen Meetings, Daily checking the food quality, Food tests (Lab) once in four months. twice weekly conducting meetings with the Canteen In charge. Maintaining Canteen area Hygiene. Weekly once visiting Kitchen.

Employee Transportation- Ensuring the proper Transportation arrangements for all employees.

OHC, & Medicine monthly requirements

Medical Examination of Employees

Ensuring the issuance of Uniforms, safety shoes, Socks, Sportswear & Distribution – Employee & Trainee.

To be active in the Employee engaging activity such as the fulfilment of settlement LTS outcome with respect to admin like Picnic, family day etc.

Coordinating with EHS-related activities

Payroll & MIS

Responsibly for the Time office management

Responsible for Salary Processing – Attendance input sharing (MCO’s, Trainees and other Associates)

Responsible for preparation of MIS

Responsible for handling the grievances of employees with respect to Salary & benefits.

Ensuring all the social security payments are made within time.

Ensuring the statutory records are maintained and returns are made within the timelines.

Payroll based reports – Data analysis and reporting.

Time office Management – Inconsistency/abnormalities reporting
