As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescription medication as ordered by the Physician. You will also maintain the drug inventory and maintain patient records in a manner consistent with all federal and state regulations, DEA best practices, and facility policies and procedures.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate degree (preferred)

Pharmacy Technician registration, certification, or license in the state of employment as required by the individual state.

One year of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Experience in a medical or behavioral health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Receive and verify prescriptions ordered by the Physician.

Prepare prescriptions for dispensing by the Pharmacist.

Assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication.

Maintain records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.

Help healthcare providers and clients/patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the Pharmacist.

Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.

Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Perform general clerical duties.

Perform other duties as assigned.
