Job Description

Our local customer is looking for Telecom Technicians for an ongoing project on Oahu. These techs need to have experience pulling and terminating cable. They also must be able to lift at least 50lbs and be comfortable working on OSP projects.

Top Skills' Details

1) Experience with pulling and terminating cable, conducting surveys, and BICSI knowledge (if not certified). The individual would need to possess enough experience to be able to do installations on their own.

2) Ability to carry 50 lbs or more (ladders, other equipment, and tools).

3) Ability to provide great customer service, responsible for servicing residential and commercial customers.

4) COAX experience or fiber, good to have but not required (on site training opportunity)

Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon optic cables.

Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.

Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task.

Perform work in accordance with industry standards.

Be familiar with BICSI standards, read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.

Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps and in the field with clarity and detail and make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies.

Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation.

Participate in engineering, permit and construction processes to support project contracts.

Perform routine maintenance.

Recognize and repair route issues including maintenance and hand hole cleanup, and sign placement.

Connect wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.

Respond to and participate in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities.

Ensure that all work considers the safety of the customer and general public and compliance with all governmental orders.

Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.

Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation on prints
