Neurologic Music Therapist

Full Time Day - Evening Shift

** Pay rate between $50,000-57,000/year!**

(based on experience)

Requirements for a Friendly Home Music Therapist:

Bachelor's Degree in Music Therpay

Strong communication, organization skills along with the ability to put thoughts in writing.

Must have computer experience including minimum skills with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.

Ability to work well with Members and staff.

Current Music Therapy Board Certification.

Current Neurologic Music Therapy affiliation or fellowship.

Responsibilities for a Friendly Home Music Therapist:

In conjunction with the interdisciplinary team, identifies Members/patients that will benefit from music therapy services.

Assesses Member/patient needs and establishes a music therapy plan of care in accordance with the treatment prescribed by a referral from the interdisciplinary team or any member thereof.

Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to create clinical treatment plans when indicated.

Prepares and conducts individual music therapy sessions either 1-1 or co-treating with PT, OT, or ST.

Prepares Music Therapy Impact Fund budget and oversees the allocation of the funds therein.

Coordinates and supervises contracted Music Therapist to prepare, set-up and conduct group music therapy sessions on each neighborhood 1x/week. Contract Music Therapist is responsible for necessary documentation as directed by LE department procedures.

Recruits for, budgets and supervises in-room musician program for Friendly Home.

Responsible for supervision of assisting volunteers, practicum students and music therapy interns.

Carries out music therapy procedures as indicated in the care plan using all available modalities included under the AMTA scope of practice. Performs music therapy treatments in all phases as determined by the treatment plan created by the interdisciplinary team in accordance with current clinical research and best practice in music therapy.

Interprets music therapy assessment and plan of care to other members of the interdisciplinary team. Obtains approval from the interdisciplinary team to change treatments in relation to Member's progress.

Completes Member/patient documentation timely and at specific intervals as required and assures daily attendance records of Members/patients are completed.

May conduct education programs for facility staff.

Performs other duties as required by supervisor or by Administration.

Participates in in-service education and safety programs.

Assists with special projects as assigned.
