We are seeking a professional and caring Psychiatrist to join our team! In this role, you will conduct psychological exams and testing, diagnose and treat psychological disorders, and assist patients in addressing dysfunctional behaviors through the use of psychotherapeutic methods and medicine. This is a school based position. You will be required to support a charter school network.
Duties:
Monthly visits to each of the Charter Schools clusters to spend 1 day providing psychiatry consult and services to students and setting a flex day to support any school within the network.
At monthly visits, the psychiatrist will dedicate time to observe or consult with other clinicians and dedicate some time to provide direct services with kids.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients
Diagnose and treat mental illnesses.
Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including medication management and therapy
Monitor and evaluate the progress of patients through regular follow-up appointments
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and school stakeholders to provide comprehensive care to students.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of students treatment and progress
Consult with the special education coordinators at each school site to preview the day or confirm any high-priority needs.
Stay informed about the latest developments in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development
Student observations or case consults (for students who could be possible referrals to the your caseload)
Scheule and set routine psychiatry appointmentsResponsibilities
Identify psychological, emotional, and behavioral concerns and provide diagnoses
Create individualized treatment plans for each client
Prescribe psychotherapeutic medication and adjust prescription according to patients response
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plan, including all medication information
Consult with primary care physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care is provided
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest professional developments and researchQualifications
MD or DO from an accredited US-based medical school
Current medical license and certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS)
Deep knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methods
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to explain complex medical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
Excellent observational and assessment skills
