As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance management.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Analyze downtime reports and propose improvements, projects and other activities needed.
Facilitate major repairs, rebuilds, and retro-fits of existing production equipment
Facilitate installation of new production equipment
Support execution of PM plans for all production equipment; critically looking at major equipment and improving PM frequency value.
Source parts from outside sources and procure parts using SAP system while adhering to all purchasing rules
Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective action facilitation for unplanned downtime events
Continual analysis of: downtime data, machine component failures, spare parts inventory, support documentation and Maintenance repair quality/efficiency
Champion for documentation creation and control to improve repair quality and reduce time for repair on planned and unplanned activities
Assist in creation of standard work instructions related to troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
Support the development of an effective spare parts inventory system
Provide expert technical support when maintenance technicians have an issue.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology Engineering or related field required
At least 2 years of maintenance experience in casting and forging environment preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Advanced machinery knowledge
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and thermal systems.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for troubleshooting and repair purposes.
Working knowledge of programmable controllers and industrial robotics including Siemens PLC’s and NC’s, and ABB Robotics
Working knowledge of techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used
Basic algebraic abilities as well as ability to read and interpret measurements
Excellent reasoning and problem solving ability
Ability to operate electrical hand tools and measuring devices and train technicians on their proper use
Ability to follow step-by-step instructions
Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems
Ability to stay organized and establish priorities
Excellent communication skills
