Senior Associate, Data Analytics – Internal Audit

Overview:

Cognizant’s Internal Audit (IA) is a global function responsible for successful and efficient execution of the company’s SOX Program, annual audit plan approved by the Audit Committee, and reviews requested by Executive Leadership / Senior Management.

Data Analysts in the IA function have the unique opportunity to work in a global environment, acquire diverse experiences, develop new skills and nurture their growth. The data analysts will:

Work on Key Risk Indicators (KRI) modules.

Work on process and technology related areas across SOX, audit and advisory engagements.

Leverage Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and other latest technologies based on project requirements.

Be assigned to engagements based on their availability, expertise and development needs.

Engage with different Functional Heads, Leaders and team members

Be assigned to varied roles and responsibilities across engagements. These include leading engagements with respect to data analytics, managing bandwidth across projects, and interacting with senior stakeholders.

Candidates may note that it is preferred, albeit not mandatory to have prior work experience in the Internal Audit domain. We are looking for data analysts with hands on experience in data preparation, exploratory data analysis, formulating hypothesis and building reports or dashboards, irrespective of the industry or functional domain.

Key Responsibilities: Senior Associate, Data Analytics

The Senior Associate supports the Data Analytics Associate Director by proposing relevant analytics procedures and tools, executing the analytics and also developing visualization outputs for audits, key risk indicators and IA initiatives. The individual’s responsibilities include -

Understanding audit or project objectives and assisting the Associate Director in preparing the analytics execution plan and timelines.

Working with Corporate Functions/Business Units/IA teams for gathering requirements for KRI projects.

Working with IA audit teams to understand the analytics requirements for audit engagements.

Independently build pilot or prototype, determine appropriate visual tool and design the views to meet project objectives.

Establishing and maintaining relationships with all key stakeholders of internal audit.

Taking an active role in developing and driving Internal Audit Data Analytics quality, coaching audit team members on analytics tools and knowledge sharing to enhance the value provided to Internal Audit stakeholders.

Ensuring timely and accurate time tracking.

Continuously focusing on self-development by attending trainings, seminars and acquiring relevant certifications.

Required Skills and Experience: Senior Associate, Data Analytics

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Science or Bachelor's degree in other fields with sufficient Data Analytics certifications.

At least 6 years of experience in data analytics and visualization.

Proficient on data management and modeling tools like Access/Excel, ACL, IDEA, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, Tensorflow etc.

Highly skilled in visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Qlik View, Qlik Sense etc.

Certifications in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation is preferred. The application of these technologies on the job is necessary.
