Description:
· Working in an engineering laboratory used to develop and test electronic, software and electromechanical products.
· Building and testing product prototypes.
· Troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment up to 600 V and 4000 A.
· Installing software and firmware in electronic devices using networked computers and software tools.
· Building, programming, and testing prototype PCBs, both surface mount technology and through hole.
· Performing acceptance testing of new software, products and product platforms.
· Documenting test results using on-line and hard copy test reports.
· Authoring, validating, and releasing assembly and testing procedures.
· Designing and building test automation using LabView or other suitable tools.
· Managing lab equipment, tools, and supplies.
· Coordinating lab equipment calibration, maintenance and repairs.
· Advising new technologies, equipment or tools that will benefit lab operations.
· Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the lab.
· Strong growth path to supervisory and leadership roles. Requirements:
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology degree in electrical engineering; or two-year technical degree in electrical or electronics plus 10 years of applicable experience.
· Proficiency with electronic testing tools.
· Proficiency using engineering documentation, e.g. schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
· Proficiency using LabView or similar tools for test systems.
· Experience with 5S methodology.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Demonstrated ability to use electrical PPE, Lock-out/Tag-out, and other standard safety methods, equipment and procedures.
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and management.
· Good time management skills.
· Expertise using standard Microsoft Office computer tools.
Job Skills Preferred or Desired:
· Scripting, Python, or other programming experience and skill.
· Light manufacturing assembly experience.
· Experience with basic machine tools, e.g. lathe, drill press, milling machine.
