The WeGo Mechanic Apprenticeship Program is ideal for people who enjoy solving problems and working with their hands. It combines training with a full-time salary and benefits, including health insurance.

Training to be a mechanic can be expensive. It’s free with the WeGo Apprenticeship Program. The goal is to advance people into a starting mechanics position at WeGo, with even better pay and room for advancement.

The WeGo Mechanic Apprenticeship Program runs for three years and is recognized by the Department of Labor. It’s a hands-on program taught in the WeGo maintenance facilities. Participants work on buses that are part of the active fleet. Apprenticeship is a partnership between WeGo and the union to address training needs, mentoring, and credentialing.

WeGo recruits a new mechanic apprentice class once a year, usually in the summer. Applicants must be over the age of 18, submit a resume, pass a mechanical aptitude test, and complete an interview process.

The application dates will be from July 1 through August 10 of each year for the Apprenticeship Program.
