Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore sub-arc or stick welding process (must pass three or more)
Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non Destructive Exam
May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials
Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework
Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches and automated equipment
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, etc. with minimal supervision
Must be able to operates basic cutting equipment
Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude
Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
Requires operation of heavy such as welding tools on a constant frequency and forklift on an occasional frequency
Preferred Education
High School Diploma
Welding School
Required Experience & Skills
Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials
Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or 6G test pipe
