Minimum Qualifications
A sincere desire and ability to work with children
Training and experience with the major sports (Basketball, Softball, Soccer, Street Hockey, Flag Football and Lacrosse)
Proven ability to teach several of the above sports
Ability to work in teams and get along with peers
Ability to accept constructive feedback through evaluations
Good character, enthusiasm, patience, self control, integrity and ability to adapt to a camp setting.
Job Description
General Responsibility: To instruct campers on the above sports through practice and repetition in a fun and safe environment
Specific Responsibilities:
To attend Camp’s orientation and complete the high-risk activity training, including CPR and basic First Aid
To set-up the fields during orientation
To maintain the equipment with the assistance of the maintenance department
To ensure that when you are not at the fields/courts and all related equipment is stored and locked away
To perform daily checks of athletic shed, program area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair
To use the assistance of the general counselor who accompanied the participants to the activity
To ensure that all participants are wearing proper clothing/equipment
To ensure that each participant is wearing properly fitting necessary protective equipment – Chest guard, helmet and gloves, etc.
To keep records on participants progress and areas for improvement
To inform the program director of any and all difficulties including, but not limited to, difficult campers or general counselor, no-shows and equipment or supply needs
To complete an accident report for each instanceCompany Description
