Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Petroleum Well Engineer who applies good common sense and has a strong digital skillset and project management skills.

Our company: Aztech Well Construction is a well-established and class leading privately owned Well Engineering and Well Project Management company with Directors who work in the business.

We work across a range of project and client types including onshore and offshore projects, in Australia and international, working with Government bodies to small and mid-cap independent operators.

Our approach is based on developing flexible but “right-sized" teams that provide the blend of expertise in specific areas to manage the full project lifecycle and different phases, and as such we offer the opportunity for individuals to gain exposure to the many varied aspects of what is required to deliver a wells project.

Skills: Drilling, Wells and Petroleum Engineering

Knowledge:

Advanced understanding of well engineering and operations including drilling, well intervention, workover, completions and well abandonment. To cover both land and offshore subsea well types, including conventional oil and gas, unconventional shale and tight gas assets.

Must have experience in both rig and rigless operations with workover rigs, snubbing units, coiled tubing, wireline and slickline, casing repairs, remedial cementing, fishing, and artificial lift installations.

Experience:

10+ years working across a broad range of roles that include office-based design and planning, operations management and wellsite supervision.

Preference given to candidates who also have a strong digital skillset and project management skills.

Education / Training:

Engineering or Science degree (Bachelor 3-5 years). Well Control certification (current).

Location:

Office-based in Perth, Australia but the role will have a requirement to spend periods at well site for operational supervision as required so candidates must be flexible with work location and schedule. May be required to travel to other locations.

Working Rights:

Prefer candidate to have current and valid Australian Working Rights, but for a suitable candidate, we may consider providing employer sponsorship for a working temporary residency visa.

Position Description:

• Responsible for well delivery process and well operations and design in accordance with Aztech and industry standards.

• Responsible for development of drilling and well programs from conceptual design through to execution on site.

• Conduct risk assessments and actively manage risk register.

• Design and execute operations with range of artificial lift installation systems.

• Design and execute operations requiring a variety of abandonment methods.

• Design and execute operations through application of a range of well intervention. techniques such as slickline, wireline, coiled tubing, snubbing unit and workover rigs.

• Provide support to Operations Superintendent and act as relief / stand-in when required.

• Run contract and procurement process for the selection of suppliers and service contractors.

• Contractor management and liaison with subcontractors.

• Perform internal audits and gap analysis for compliance with technical policy and standards.

• Mentor and manage less experienced team members.
