About the Role
CipherTel is seeking an experienced Hardware Technician to join our team for Newman, Western Australia, and surrounding areas. Your responsibilities will include:
Responding to inquiries about software and hardware problems
Installing and downloading appropriate software
Ensuring efficient use of applications and equipment
Implementing computer networks
Repairing and replacing electronic equipment such as modems, routers, switches, servers
Ownership of system security and disaster recovery planning processes
Troubleshooting and supporting server-related hardware and software issues
Documentation maintenance, policy creation, operational procedure recording
Ensuring optimal network performance and efficiency
Proactive assessment of computer site requirements and network enhancements
Establishment and maintenance of backups, recovery procedures, and security controls
Management of mobile device security across the organisation
Salary range AUD$75,000 to AUD$80,000
Candidates with an IT background and experience with troubleshooting servers, switches, and other network-connected equipment over a network environment are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience
An IT background
Experience repairing, installing, and troubleshooting servers & switches over a network environment
Strong knowledge of PC networking
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite - Word, Outlook & Excel
Ability to maintain job documentation
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Flexibility and experience in rural area work
Valid driver's and motorcycle license
Experienced living in very remote communities and isolated environments
