The Drafter I, supports the organization’s mission to provide superior quality, lasting value, and outstanding customer service through the day-to-day workflow processes that affect Holiday Builders. The Drafter I will provide related design services within the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans Management
Maintains and adheres to established drafting standards.
Maintains database of architectural master plans and digital drawing files
Draft construction details for submittal to the construction detail library
Draft revisions and update all documentation and communicate all changes to all affected end users (i.e. sales, construction, etc.)
Prints and files drawings and engineering documents.
Working drawings Coordination
Draft all approved revisions within established timeframes.
Draft non-standard options within established timeframes
Quality Control
Accurately draft all drawing files and ensure their compliance with established drafting standards.
Conduct regularly scheduled field observations.
Permitting and Processing
Prepare and review Working Drawings (WD’s) and all architecture-related documents required for permitting process.
Coordinate with Central Processing Center (CPC) by providing all architecture-related services accordance with the established procedure.
Coordinate with third party consultants, ie. Structural engineers, trusses companies and trades
Draft all municipality comments, and ensure any required changes are made to WD’s within the established timeframe.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/experience
Associate's degree in architectural drafting; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
0 - 2 years general architectural practice experience preferred
Skills/Abilities
Requires the ability to:
Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Demonstrate proficiency with a variety of computer software applications to include MS Office Suite
Demonstrate and maintain proficiency with AutoCAD/Auto Desktop (v. 2010 or higher)
Organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with attention to detail and follow-through.
Exhibit general knowledge of construction methods and permitting process.
Read architectural and structural drawings.
Maintain current knowledge in structural elements of home building; product installation means and methods.
Interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands
Able to lift, push, or move 10 to 25 pounds without assistance.
Requires the ability to climb, stoop, kneel or crouch to gain access to equipment, files, and office supplies.
