Electrical Engineer, PE

ATSS Engineering has a client in Mobile, AL looking for an Electrical Engineer with 10 years industrial experience. Successful candidate will lead the electrical engineering design deliverables, including performing electrical engineering calculations, engineered drawings and documents, equipment specifications and construction support. Would prefer candidate to have a PE.

· Education: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

· Understanding and implementing design from technical drawings.

· Develop equipment data sheets, bill of materials, submittal review and approvals, etc.

· Cost and schedule estimating and fee proposal development.

· Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards.

· Inspecting electrical components during and after the product installation.

· Proficiency in standard engineering design and office software (AutoCAD, Excel, etc.).

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Experience with PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers), variable speed motor drives, distributed control systems, instrumentation.

· Develop equipment specifications.

· Team player with good interpersonal skills and team leadership skills.

· Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE, IECC, NFPA).

· Work products will include: one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layout drawings, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit and tray routing drawings and contractor scope documents.

· Problem solving abilities.

· Monitoring and maintaining schedules.

· Excellent time management and people management skills and the proven ability to work under pressure.

· Developing and implementing design schedule for each project.

· Produce engineering schematics of electrical power transmission and distribution, including electrical equipment arrangement, for government, commercial, and industrial projects.

· Design engineering schematics for medium and low voltage distribution for new and existing commercial and industrial facilities.

· Design and specify electrical control systems such as lighting control systems, relays, power control systems, etc., for commercial and industrial projects.

· Prepare and maintain thorough and accurate records of engineering design schematics, technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, etc.
