What You’ll Be Doing

Nathan, a Cadmus Company, invites experienced consultants with experience in the following countries (Belize, Benin, Cote d'Ivoire, The Gambia, Indonesia, Kenya, Kosovo, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Zambia) to submit their CVs for consideration for short-term, on-demand technical advisory and project management assignments focused on improving the integration of gender and social inclusion considerations into energy and transportation sector activities.

Consultants should possess direct and relevant professional experience in one or more of the areas above, prior experience working on donor-funded programs or projects, and proven consulting skills.

Responsibilities

Consultants will be engaged in tasks as directed by the client on an on-demand basis. Illustrative tasks may include:

Conduct research related to gender in the transport or energy sectors, including qualitative and quantitative data collection (e.g. focus group discussions and key informant interviews), analysis, and reporting

Collect and synthesize background information through desk research

Provide analysis and technical recommendations for gender and inclusion-focused activities, building on project and activity assessments and design work already undertaken

Provide technical guidance, input and support pertinent to existing and planned MCC activities

Support plans for capacity building among key partners on inclusion and gender

Support oversight of the implementation of activities and assess adequacy of implementation, as well as recommendations for any course correction

Support for reviewing training materials, protocols and procedures

Identify best practices and lessons learned

Conduct quantitative analysis, including GIS, using various statistical software

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher; plus at least four years of relevant work experience

Experience coordinating with MCC or similar donors to deliver quality technical results (MCC experience strongly preferred, though not required)

Demonstrated knowledge and experience guiding and undertaking research and integration of gender and social inclusion issues in project designs, assessments, management plans, studies, and in procurement and contract documents

Significant experience working in the energy or transport sectors in developing countries, with country-specific experience preferred

Experience working with different technical experts (including economists, engineers, environmental and social safeguard specialists, TIP expert and other sector experts), government officials, NGOs, community organizations, and other country stakeholders

Candidates based in designated countries are particularly encouraged to apply

Ability to speak, read and write in English; French language skills a plus
