The Production Scheduler supports the operational support function and is responsible for working closely with the fatigue and fracture toughness department manager, project managers and the production planner for routine testing to ensure continuous flow of material through effective planning, to minimize impact on any one value stream. This role is responsible for establishing capacity within the fatigue & fracture department on a weekly basis to develop a robust plan where planned versus actual can be monitored and delivered by the department. The role will support the operational support manager, and department manager, in forecasting test demands to ensure improvements and training activites are proactively considered. Manufacturing experience adventagous, and process improvement! Aberdeen based!

Responsibilities

Liaise directly with Operational Support Manager and Internal Department managers to fully understand Project delivery requirements

Develops detailed project plans to drive implementation and track results

Actively involved in safety within the team and exhibits safety awareness, supports safety behaviours and safety culture, and is compliant and safety rules and procedures in place

Active involvement in daily SQDC process, understanding outputs from SQDC, and involved in resolution of issues arising from SQDC

Analyses opportunities and evaluates alternatives to maximize savings and improve customer service

Provides input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers

Ensure all tasks are in line with quality requirements and procedures, supporting audits and finding resolution where required

Develop strong relationships with both internal and external teams to resolve issues that arise within the daily course of business. Ability to communicate effectively internally and with external clients to fully understand Client’s Project expectations and ability to plan and deliver expectations

Ability to operate in a fully autonomous manner

Supports and provides input on strategic planning efforts within the department. Supports Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, etc within their team

Tracks and reports progress of all projects running within their assigned areas

Adept at managing priorities and work time in accordance with targets/goals

Any other reasonable request aligned to business as required by manager

Skills / Qualifications

Min HND in relevant Engineering discipline and/or min 2-3 years experience in production planning environment

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and use of data driven actions

Knowledge of an ISO 17025 test facility an advantage

Working knowledge of laboratory safety, management, processes preferable
